Spotify’s London home brings agile workspace, listening rooms, collaboration areas, full catering and a working music venue together under one roof, for more than 600 staff and a stream of visiting recording artists.
The brief
The CAT B works were developed from the landlord’s shell and core refurbishment of the listed Adelphi Building. The scheme included infilling the atria and building a new stage arena, all while working with limited base-build chilled water and fresh air.
Our role
We were appointed in August 2017 to design and monitor the works, and took on full detailed design in January 2018. Levels 7 and 8 completed in October 2018, with levels 1 to 3 following in December 2018. Every RIBA Stage 4 deliverable was met on a demanding programme with ISG.
What we delivered
- Smart distribution of limited base-build chilled water and fresh air to new mechanical services
- Fully exposed services, coordinated within a listed building
- DALI addressable lighting control with daylight linking and scene setting
- Low-energy LED and feature lighting throughout
- Underfloor power and structured cabling for flexible workspace
- State-of-the-art audio-visual and conference facilities to all areas
The project went on to win two FX Awards: Workspace Environment (Large) and UK Project of the Year.
